What is an ort jars?

The word ort was used in the 15th century to refer to food scraps and comes from the German meaning 'leftover'.

Recently stitchers have begun to use this to refer to a jar of left over threads while stitching.

Why use one?

Well Anne uses them for a number of reasons. Practicality to save them for future projects or stuffing. But also as a record of the projects she has done over the years.

Available as a desk ort with useful hole to store scissors in, or a travel one with lid, ideal to pop in you kit when out and about.
