I am an artist and tutor living and working in Brighouse, West Yorkshire.
I have always had a love for art and after completing a degree in Visual Arts and Culture I began sharing my love in the classroom teaching Art, textiles and Photography.
My personal interest in art extended into textiles when I started attending a variety of workshops alongside teaching A level Textiles at school. I decided to extend my own practice completing level 3 in embroidery. Over the past 8 years I have developed my own work that centers around my love of drawing and a passions for collecting natures treasures when I am out and about.
I create bespoke mixed media pieces of work that focus around my love for paper and drawing, but instead of drawing with a pencil I use a needle and thread.
My inspiration comes from me taking a step out of the front door, #My Right Foot. I collect, draw and photograph the treasures that can go unnoticed and these become the inspiration for my work. These have become an illustration of my textile wanderings.
Alongside my own work I love to teach and share my love of all things arty. At Shed 76 & 1/2 you can come and work alongside myself, guest tutors and others that share a love of our stitchery world.
Have a browse through my wanderings in my gallery, pop into my shop, read about my workshops or check out the calendar to see what is coming up in my HanneMADE world
Love Anne xx
